Details on our wide variety of self-catering and rental accommodation for your family vacation.

For 60 years, Overbury Resort has welcomed guests, many of whom have returned year after year. We have accommodations for a variety of different tastes and preferences, from our rustic summer cabins to our modern Cresent Point Cottages. Beyond our rental accommodation we have facilities suitable for any event. We specialize in hosting weddings, retreats, reunions and conferences, in addition to offering full catering and planning services.

Accommodations

Our accommodations consist of 10 individual units, all with easy beach access, across our 14 acre waterfront property. Each unit caters to different requirements and tastes. As a heritage resort, we take pride in the fact that each unit is unique. You may be surprised to find that this lends a particular character to our accommodation that many of our guests find appealing.

All units are fully furnished and are provided with linen, kitchenware, and appliances. We maintain and clean our lodgings to the highest standards.

We do not allow pets of any kind. Sorry no exceptions.

Resort facilities and location

The resort experience goes far beyond your lodging. Our tranquil, unspoiled oceanfront property fronted by three sheltered beaches provides guests with an ideal recreation spot. The beaches are interspersed with rocky outcrops, an excellent natural playground for children to explore tide-pools and make fishing expeditions. Southwestern exposure and shallow pebble/sand beaches provide great summer swimming. Rowboats and kayaks are available for rental in which you can explore the sheltered waters and nearby islands.

There is an array of natural environments for guests to enjoy as the resort itself stretches back from the waterfront across carefully maintained gardens and lawns, back into the quiet forest that surrounds our grounds. We are located on Forbes Road, a quiet residential drive, but are situated only minutes from the ferry terminal and other island amenities.

As one of the smaller Gulf Islands, Thetis remains relatively undeveloped and ideal for those who are looking for a quiet getaway.  There are many opportunities for tranquil walks and cycling, exploring the oceanfront, or visiting the two marinas, pub, restaurant and coffee shop. Additionally, there is a tennis court available at the community centre.

Thetis Island is easily accessed by boarding a passenger ferry in Chemainus, a quaint town on Vancouver Island, renowned for its murals, shopping, gift shops and boutiques. Chemainus is also home to a golf course, a hospital and a beautiful theater for performing arts and is a convenient central location from which to begin exploring Vancouver Island.
